Naag Panchmi is a festival dedicated to remove our fear and make us friendly with environment. Panchami after Amavasya in the month of Shravan is celebrated as Naag Panchmi. It is a unique festival dedicated to worship snakes God i.e. Nag Devta. The festival of Naag Panchami is celebrated throughout India. Lord Shiva is always seen with a snake around his neck. Lord Vishnu is found resting on Sheshnag. So Nag devtas or snakes God holds important place in our mythology.
A copper snake is also very sensitive to certain energies. Shiva has the snake around his throat. It is not just symbolic. There is a whole lot of science behind it. The eighth deity Hindus worship is Naag Devta (Snake). This would be a wonderful addition to your pooja altar. Hindus worship snake for protection from enemies and demon. It is a sign of fertility.
